516B - Islands IV - Málmey

Málmey is a low-lying island approximately 4 km in length. It is Skagafjordur’s largest islands, populated for many centuries. The last inhabitants left the island in 1950. Málmey has panoramic view in all directions. The island is grassy and dry. No traces of woodland have been discovered while 96 species of vascular plants have been found in the island.
